Thanks to Albert and David F. who hosted our annual Holiday Dinner at their home in Hillcrest. And Thanks to Bob C., Luciano, Jay, Jim and others for overseeing the food and room set up. The room was full of conversation and laughter.
The Dinner was almost immediately followed by the LGBT Center's "Home for the Holidays" at which FOG had its first information table since the Covid lockdown. Neal R., Jim H. and John K. talked to a lot of community members who were not familiar with FOG and saw a lot of long-time friends. We were also invited to the stage to say a few words about our group and light a candle for the Holidays. We used the Centers event to unveil a new informational "palm card" (shown below). People like the size and the color photos. Thanks to all our "models" for their smiles. The Wednesdays and Saturdays coffees continue to grow. The new shopping center location has been a popular choice. We have literally watched them remodel the mall around us. The Fellowship wants to wish everyone a healthy, safe and Happy Holiday Season and the best in the New Year. |
Our organization began when our two founding members met through an ad one of them had placed in a local newspaper, looking for like-minded gay men over 40 who wanted to “socialize and pursue educational, entertainment and cultural interests”. The first meeting took place on September 7, 1993 with 10 people in attendance and we now number around 200 members. Learn more on our About page.
